Meet the Team
Dr. Leroy Owyang
Dr. Owyang is a hometown native raised in Fremont, and attended Hacienda Elementary, Niles Elementary, Ardenwood Elementary, Walters Jr. High School, and Kennedy High School. Dr. Owyang left Fremont to attend college at the University of California, Davis, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology. He then moved to San Francisco to attend the Arthur A. Dugoni University of the Pacific School of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Owyang decided to return to Fremont to practice and serve the community where he grew up, giving back to the town he considers home.
Dr. Owyang has attended numerous continuing education courses and seminars to remain at the forefront of restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the Southern Alameda County Dental Society, the California Dental Society, and the American Dental Society.
When not servicing his patients, Dr. Owyang loves spending time with his wife, Clariza, and their two children. He is also passionate about music, and enjoys playing the guitar.
Clariza Owyang - Office Manager
Clariza is our office manager and handles the behind-the-scenes business tasks. She was raised in San Leandro, where she went to Arroyo High School. Clariza also has a Bachelor of Sciences degree from San Francisco State University, where she majored in Biology, and minored in Chemistry.
Clariza loves to spend time with her family and friends, and enjoys cooking, watching movies and exercising. In addition to her work here at the office, Clariza is also a full time super-mommy!
Marissa Waterhouse - Registered Dental Hygienist
Marissa is our resident hygienist, and is in charge of keeping our gums healthy and our smiles bright! She was raised in Fremont, where she attended Warwick Elementary, Thornton Jr. High School, and American High School.
Marissa comes from the first graduating class of the dental hygiene program at Western Career College, and is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA). In addition to being a Registered Dental Hygienist, Marissa also has past experience in the dental field as a Registered Dental Assistant, working in General, Pedodontic, and Orthodontic offices.
In her leisure time, Marissa enjoys shopping, boating, and spending time with her family and friends.
Karen Cruz - Registered Dental Assistant
Karen is our registered dental assistant, and makes sure everything runs smoothly in the office! She went to high school at Newark Memorial High, attended college at Chabot, and currently lives in Fremont.
Karen has been dental assisting since 2003, and brings with her a solid foundation in chairside skills, as well as general back-office duties.
When she's not working, Karen loves spending time with her husband and 2 children!
Carlene Rosales - Front Office Coordinator
Carlene is in charge of our front office duties, and handles everything from scheduling appointments, to coordinating insurance plans, to making sure all of our patients' administrative needs are met!
With front office experience since 2003, Carlene brings to us a wealth of business knowledge, and a firm understanding of the ins and outs of the insurance world.
Her hobbies include tennis, hiking, and staying fit with Zumba!
